Kelshall Parochial Church Council

Kelshall Parochial Church Council

Parochial Church Council (PCC) is an administrative body concerned with the church of St Faith's in Kelshall. Whilst a separate Parish from Therfield, St Faith's shares the same incumbency and Rector.

The Council is elected by Parishioners and those on the church's own electoral roll annually and is headed by the Rector as Chairman. Two churchwardens are appointed together with a PCC Secretary, Treasurer, Deanery Representative and Sidespersons.

The church in common with all other churches contributes towards the cost of the work of the Church of England and its clergy by means of a levy ('Parish Share') based on church support and attendance. It is also responsible for the upkeep of the building (the 'church fabric'). Its day to day income is derived from collections at services, donations and fees from weddings and funerals. For the upkeep of the building the PCC depends on the proceeds of fund raising events such as social functions, concerts and talks.

The PCC has recently completed a programme of works involving the installation of a water supply and drainage and the provision of a toilet and kitchenette. In addition the roof of the Nave has been recovered. This was funded by donations and functions held at the church, grants and a legacy.

Those who are interested in becoming involved in the work of St Faith's are invited to contact one of those listed below
